Take a look at this list of Fall hikes in Duluth
One of our favorite ways to embrace the fall weather is to take a hike, enjoy the sunshine, breathe in allll the fresh air, and then take a little jaunt to the taproom to celebrate with a pint of beer, or a THC beverage. Alternatively, we also love hiking with a couple of our favorite beers and taking a little break at one of the many scenic viewpoints and cracking open a cold one. Check out our list of our favorite Duluth hikes and be inspired! As always, take your time and hike what feels good to you and enjoy safely!
Ely’s Peak
A Duluth favorite. Take a nice drive down to Gary New Duluth and enjoy this short, roughly 1.5 mile hike up to the top of Elys Peak and enjoy the view! Hikers and runners can choose to make this a loop hike, or a classic out and back. The hike up to the top is a bit rocky and a little steep through densely forested woods, but once you get there enjoy the sweeping views the St Louis River estuary, and the rolling hills beyond! The top features some large flat rocky outcrops to sit on, and enjoy snacks, beers, views, and more.

Brewers Park
Well, it’s in the name really. Just kidding. Brewers Park has a wonderful roughly 3 mile loop hike that showcases some beautiful views conveniently located within Duluth city limits. Hikers, runners, and everyone in between will enjoy varied terrain with a variety of views from sweeping outlooks, to cozy forested sections that make you feel like you’re deep in the north woods of Duluth.
Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail
Enjoy hiking along the scenic St. Louis river! Take a stroll, a bike, a hike, a walk, a run on the the Waabizheshikana or “The Marten Trail.” You’ll enjoy such beautiful colors reflected on the water, plus, have the opportunity to catch some migrating birds along the way. Make this hike as long or as short as you’d like by making it an out and back trail or hike a little longer to get on to the paved Munger trail.

Hawks Ridge
Home to Hawks Ridge Bird Observatory, Hawks Ridge boasts another beautiful spot to enjoy the fall views. This hike showcases overlooks of Lake Superior, plus plenty of wooded trails to choose your own adventure. Bikers can enjoy rugged and rocky trails, while hikers can enjoy a variety of terrain and tailor their hikes to their own adventures. Bonus! Enjoy borrowing some binoculars from Hawks Ridge observatory to take a look at the plethora of raptors migrating through the North Shore.
Congdon Creek
Lastly, but not least we have Congdon Park! Located in the middle of Duluth this hike is sure to please those looking to step on some crunchy leaves. This trail follows Congdon Creek which showcases many beautiful waterfalls. Take a moment to listen to the water and breathe in the smell of fall. Bring your dog – they’re sure to love it.

Cheers, Paddlers! As always, paddle responsibly while you’re out on the trails. We’ll see you at our beautiful Duluth taproom once you’re done.
