Jazz, Funk, and Fusion from the Twin Ports!

During this workshop students will learn 2 beginner friendly earring designs using silver plated wire & clear quartz crystals!
No previous experience needed.
Hannah, the instructor, will be guiding the workshop. She will be there for any questions and any sort of hands-on help with your creations.
All supplies will be provided!
Each student will leave with 1-2 pairs of earrings that were handmade by them!
While creating some gorgeous crystal earrings, enjoy some tasty beverages from the lounge!

Funk N Spuds is a Minneapolis based musical collective of artists from around the Midwest. Formed in early 2020, their jam-rock jazz-pop sounds inspire hope in listeners and positive change in the world.

They recently released an album “Into Focus”, which marks a transformative chapter for the spuds. Adapting from a six to a four-piece band, they dove deep to rediscover their core sound and emerged more unified than ever. "Into Focus" is a collection of experiences, each track crafted with love and a touch of new beginnings, especially evident as they welcomed their newest member, Christian on bass, letting Justin shine on the 12-string guitar.

The Duluth News Tribune said it best - "This truck, the shape and color of a cut of sharp cheddar, takes the comfort food classic and swaps out Wonder Bread in favor of a homemade loaf. Kevin White, who owns the truck with his partner Breanna Emond, estimates that he makes 40-50 loaves of Italian bread per week.

The menu changes occasionally, and sandwiches range from traditional-ish (four cheese grilled cheese), to traditional-ish with protein, (buffalo chicken grilled cheese), to the ultimate in nuevo grilled cheese flavors (spinach artichoke)."

The Singing Slovenes, Minnesota’s Ambassadors of traditional Slovenian music.
Under the direction of Frank Bucar and assistant director Mary Spehar White,
“The Singing Slovenes” were formed in the multi-ethnic community of Gary-New Duluth in 1980. The mission of the Minnesota group is to preserve Slovenian music and cultural heritage. Slovenia is an alpine country nestled between Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia. Though the name of the troupe is indicative of the Slovenian heritage, the members boast a wide and diverse number of nationalities to include Slovenian, Croatian, Italian, German, Polish, Czech, French, Norwegian, Finnish, Irish, and Native-American.
Performances are educational as well as entertaining. Dressing in native costumes for performances at educational facilities gives the students the opportunity to experience other cultural attire as well as geographical and language lessons that transpire during the course of the performance. The singers also appear at festivals, senior centers, nursing homes, and area churches with their musical ministry. “The Singing Slovenes” promote fellowship through music and cultural education, sharing the Slovenian heritage and preserving it for current and future generations.
Some noteworthy accomplishments on the national level include bThe following members make up ”The Singing Slovenes”: Frank and Sharon Bucar, Mary Spehar White, Frank B. and Leslie Bucar, Joe Jagunich, Seannn McGovern, Mark Spehar, Suntina Spehar, Chriseing nominated for numerous awards at the Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame Awards
Show during the 50th Anniversary of Tony Petkovsek’s Annual Thanksgiving Polka Party in November, 2011, winning the Cultural and Heritage Award. The Singing Slovenes made back to back appearances in 2011 and 2012 at World Fest at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.

Enjoy all-levels, physically distanced yoga classes. Winter time classes take place in the old tap room, Spring, Summer, Fall yoga classes take place on the new outdoor lawn space at Bent Paddle Brewing company and afterward enjoy a free beverage of your choice! Beer, Kombucha, soda available!
These classes will take place outside on the very new updated BPBC lawn, weather permitting. Winter time, Yoga classes will be held in the Production Brewery located at 1912 West Michigan Street.
Pre-registration is recommended to fully reserve your spot, for we will have a limited capacity of spaces available. Class is open to anyone 18+. Class size is limited to ensure physical distancing so please reserve your spot now.

“This I Believe”
Our August alliance meeting for the Northern MN + WI Braver Angels Alliance will give you the opportunity to share a “This I Believe” statement of personal belief about why a political topic of your choice is of importance to you. During the meeting you will be invited to reflect and write a 3 minute story onsite that ties to the shaping of your political philosophy, and helps yourself and others to understand the reasoning and depth of your connection to that topic.
It is acknowledged that some stories shared may be deeply personal. Attendees will be instructed not to share anything from someone else’s story without their permission. This is a space for honest and deep connection, where stories, beliefs, and perspectives will be heard and valued.

Essay Guidelines: (You will have 15 minutes during the meeting to formulate a response, but you are welcome to work on your “This I Believe” statement ahead of time if you prefer.)

Be Brief: Limit yourself to 500 to 600 words
Be Positive: State what you do believe. Avoid stating what you don’t believe.
Read Your Essay Aloud to Yourself: If you have time.
A listener should feel like you would respect them if they disagreed with your belief
