    7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Bill & Kate Isles are a nationally-touring singer/songwriter duo based in Duluth, MN. In 1993, Bill was a rare survivor of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Instead of ending his life, it jump-started his creative energies, resulting in a 150 show-per-year itinerary, presenting his profoundly meaningful songs. He is joined by his wife, co-writer, and musical collaborator, Kate. Her gentle presence, luscious vocals and intuitive harmonies have endeared her to audiences. Words like “Transcendent” and “Mesmerizing” and “Slapstick” are among the descriptions of their concerts and fans of all ages tell of listening to their albums over and over again. Their artistic motto is “It’s all about the audience”. This plays out as listeners find themselves in the songs, as the lyrics, carried by memorable tunes, dance through their imaginations, stirring up the dust of forgotten memories.

  • Pop Up Mental Health Day - Featuring SHIFT LCC Mobil Mental Heath Bus

    5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Bent Paddle and SHIFT LCC are excited to offer the first ever Pop Up Mental Wellness!!

Unlike physical health, mental health can be hard to talk about and undetectable by ourselves, peers, and colleagues. The world has walk-in clinics and fitness centers for physical health, SHIFT Mobile Mental Wellness is a dedicated space for mental health and wellness that shows up where you are already comfortable and at ease.

Bent Paddle and SHIFT LCC are focused on supporting access to services and smashing stigma.

    GIVE THERAPY A TRY
Considered talking with a therapist? Going through a major life change? Just feeling down but are unsure if therapy is for you? Book a slot or pop-in at the Pop-up and see if therapy is right for you.

Emotions are a healthy part of life but sometimes they can get the best of us and cause us to feel worse than we'd like. Like Mr. Rogers says "Anything mentionable is manageable".

    WHY NOW?
The need is now and growing,
In 2021, the number of people reporting symptoms of anxiety or depression nearly quadrupled compared to the year prior, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In 2020, there was a 27 percent increase in calls to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration National Helpline compared to the number of calls in 2019.

Limited resources can be difficult to access. Pop-up Mental Wellness is not. It can be right where you are, when you need it.

Managing mental wellness is just another way to Paddle Responsibly!

  • Live Music: Side String Band

    6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Side String Band formed out of a desire to make pure music true to the soul. Consisting of sidemen from various acoustic bands in the Midwest, Side String Band yearns to bring back the sound of old time bluegrass with progressive folk undertones. The band has collectively been influenced by this authentic American music over many collective years of performance. Each member contributes their craft and as a result, the sound is diverse and unified in its goal.

Side String Band is Harrison Olk (Tin Can Gin, Kind Country, Cascade Crescendo) on banjo and vocals; Nate Hynum (Black River Revue) on mandolin and vocals; Clancy Ward (Sugar on the Roof, Dickel Brothers) on fiddle and vocals; and Adam Staupe (Feeding Leroy) on the double bass and guitar. Often, as is tradition in the bluegrass and old-time music scene, Side String Band invites fellow musicians to join them on stage as they enjoy performing amongst a large community of musicians from all over the country. Side String Band is dedicated to making working people’s music; whether raw and fast or slow and sweet, the music tells the story and the members of Side String Band are the messengers. From toe tapping fiddle tunes to instant classic originals their roots are evident throughout each unique performance.

  • Live Music: Ross Thorn

Ross Thorn’s Vinyl Release Show For The Debut Album Hugo!

The 9-track record leans heavily into Ross's folk and country roots, showcasing introspective and melancholic songwriting along with political fervor and compassion for anyone that appreciates an old sound with a forward-looking message.

With a pastoral upbringing in northern Wisconsin, Ross Thorn’s music emanates as a warm and soulful hymn, waking up optimistically beside a snow covered window.
His sharply crafted lyrics – distinctly reminiscent to the likes of Jason Isbell – reveal internal struggles of empathy, questions of human character and virtue, and a search for hope – often finding solace in some unanticipated truth.
Ross’s musical inspirations range from the classic storytelling of Bob Dylan and Don McLean to the pop-energy of Queen and Lady Gaga – ultimately showcasing skilled songwriting within an air of acoustic-folk-pop.

Ross will be backed by a band of incredible Twin Ports musicians to showcase the music of the album, Hugo.

    We LOVE our Mama Roots!!

Mama Roots is a locally-owned food truck offering 100% plant-based delicious bites! We work exclusively with whole foods and do as much scratch cooking as possible. We also utilize fresh, seasonal ingredients and pour in a ton of love to challenge our world’s view on vegan food!
