Superior Siren is an eerie folk project created by singer-songwriter Laura Sellner. The music offers an alluring expression of vulnerability and desire, with inspiration from Lake Superior and Siren mythology. When Sellner joined forces with cellist Rachel Gobin, bassist Nyssa Krause, and drummer Emma Deaner a sisterhood of sirens was formed. For the past nine years they crafted a mesmerizing blend of vocals, strings, and percussion. The band recently welcomed violinist and Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Erin Aldridge, creating an all the more captivating sound and performance. Superior Siren is not for the faint of heart, and will enchant those who dare to listen.

Makwawigwamikwe Marlena Boedigheimer was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota and is a member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. She began playing the tenor saxophone at age 14, inspired after hearing the instrument sampled on Pete Rock and CL Smooth’s “T.R.O.Y”.

Marlena is primarily focused on making music that embodies concepts of Indigenous Futurism through what many would recognize as “free jazz”. Her projects center around the use of the Ojibwe language, Anishinaabemowin, as well as stories from her relatives and ancestors, aiming to raise awareness of the history of her people and the contemporary Ojibwe world. She has performed and recorded with Mato Wayuhi, The Tewa, and other contemporary Indigenous artists across a variety of genres.

Lee Clark Allen is an independent multi-genre, singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer whose music bridges the timeless warmth of classic soul with the contemporary edge of modern/Alternative R&B. His sound blends jazz, blues, rock, funk, gospel, pop, and hip-hop to create something both fresh and familiar. He has been likened to Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar, Moses Sumney, Anderson .Paak, Marvin Gaye, and others by music professionals and literary critics. His debut EP, Little Rock, introduced his signature style of smooth, groove-driven melodies paired with introspective, heartfelt lyrics, which earned a "Top Album" honor by a prestigious literary music magazine in 2019. With his multi-genre Alternative R&B released LP, My World Is Yours, Allen expands his sonic palette, showcasing deeper textures and a refined approach to songwriting and production.

Fronted by vocalists Jenna Harting and Lisa Wentworth, Mid Dream cranks out upbeat pop-punky anthems, soul searching ballads, and some things decidedly neither. With Rachel Riefenberg on drums, Matt Prois on bass, Alex Nelson on keys, and Bryan Wentworth toeing the line between lead guitar and synthscape, their tunes are filled with compelling textures and powerful harmonies.

In early 2024, songwriters Jenna, Rachel, Bryan, and Lisa (who also picks up rhythm guitar) started jamming in the Wentworth family basement. In the summer, Alex answered a cryptic invitation and joined them. Matt wasn’t far behind.

With Nate Pykkonen and Isaac Smith on guitar, Nate Rendulich on drums, and Dalton Hanson fronting the band on bass, their sound is filled with intricate rhythms, unexpected harmonic changes, and satisfying riffs. All of that combined with their stage presence and musicality has made them a staple of our local music scene.

The Duluth News Tribune said it best - "This truck, the shape and color of a cut of sharp cheddar, takes the comfort food classic and swaps out Wonder Bread in favor of a homemade loaf. Kevin White, who owns the truck with his partner Breanna Emond, estimates that he makes 40-50 loaves of Italian bread per week.

The menu changes occasionally, and sandwiches range from traditional-ish (four cheese grilled cheese), to traditional-ish with protein, (buffalo chicken grilled cheese), to the ultimate in nuevo grilled cheese flavors (spinach artichoke)."

Over the course of his long and illustrious career sprouting from the same teal backwater as Bob Dylan on northern Minnesota’s Iron Range, Rich Mattson came up learning songs from John Denver to Van Halen with a little Elvis Costello and Neil Young tossed into the mix. Add in some heaping handfuls of U2, the Replacements, and CCR and blend until the ingredients come splattering in bits and pieces and you have around 500 tunes and this fella’s discography. Now residing in Sparta with his partner Germaine Gemberling, the two have been writing, recording, and performing together since 2010. Their many albums have received rave reviews and high praise from the indie rock/americana/jangle-core crowd. The Northstars perform all around MN and beyond and have been invited to share the stage with such notable acts as the Built To Spill, Minus 5, the Jayhawks, Drivin’ and Cryin’, and Trampled By Turtles. Somewhat of a Minnesota music staple, Mattson is well known for his songwriting and outstanding showmanship as well as his work with literally thousands of artists at his Sparta Sound recording studio.

The American cosmic rock band Rich Mattson and the Northstars recently released the full length album, "Wake Up Songs". The music explores the outer limits of their cosmic sound, with exploding drums, hypersonic guitars, slippery bass syrup, and soaring over the top of it, as always, the sweet harmonies of Rich Mattson and Germaine Gemberling.

Their previous full-length record, "Out There," was released in 2022, followed by the 2024 single "Rendezvous With a Star" and 3-album set of solo acoustic versions from Mattson (“Spartan Tracks Vol. 1-3”). The group was invited to open for the mighty Built To Spill on a tour from Minneapolis to Pittsburgh. The new Northstars rhythm section of Chris Petrack (drums) and the young Calvin Lund (bass) were ready for action, and the tour was a rocking success.

Playing a full-bodied, emotionally resonant brand of Americana-infused indie rock with Dead Man Winter, Dave Simonett is best known as one of the founding members of the progressive bluegrass group Trampled by Turtles. For this event Dave is joined by a cast of familiar faces and old friends.

Nate Weiler is a local musician who aims to compliment the vibe of any fire pit, room or stage with a balanced sound of original and cover songs.

Sunhee’s Little Table is bringing authentic Korean flavors to Bent Paddle for a pop-up you won’t want to miss. Come grab a pint (or THC bev) and dig into some seriously good, made-from-scratch Korean comfort food.

Here’s a taste of what they’ll be serving up:

Bulgogi (불고기)
Thinly sliced beef marinated in a savory mix of soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, and a touch of sweetness—then grilled to perfection. Rich, flavorful, and made for pairing with a cold beer.

Tteokbokki (떡볶이)
A Korean street food favorite featuring chewy rice cakes in a spicy-sweet chili sauce. Bold, comforting, and just the right amount of heat.

Bulgogi Kimbap (불고기 김밥)
Korean-style rolls packed with marinated bulgogi, fresh veggies, and rice, all wrapped in seaweed. Easy to snack on and perfect alongside your favorite Bent Paddle pour.

Hold my beer...K&B Grill Cheese is Here!

The Duluth News Tribune said it best - "This truck, the shape and color of a cut of sharp cheddar, takes the comfort food classic and swaps out Wonder Bread in favor of a homemade loaf. Kevin White, who owns the truck with his partner Breanna Emond, estimates that he makes 40-50 loaves of Italian bread per week.

The menu changes occasionally, and sandwiches range from traditional-ish (four cheese grilled cheese), to traditional-ish with protein, (buffalo chicken grilled cheese), to the ultimate in nuevo grilled cheese flavors (spinach artichoke)."

Multicultural post-rock group Baharat is composed of vocalist Lyla Abukhodair, guitarists Emanuel Eisele and Marshall Dillon, bassist Jackson Engstrom, and drummer Rob Runnels. Having deep roots throughout the Duluth music scene, each musician brings their own unique flavor to the namesake Middle Eastern spice mix, which reflects Abukhodair’s Palestinian heritage. Since the release of their singles in 2024, following their Trampled by Turtles Palomino Grant, the band has been marinating on new material and is ready to slap it on the grill in front of everyone. Drawing influence from Midwest emo, folk, and punk, there is something to satiate every palate.
