Soulhead is a Twin Ports based group that captures the energetic element of music from the past decades while also creating new boundaries with their own taste on the classics! Their style is a unique blend of the many genres ranging from blues, rock, funk, and soul. Their ability to apply energy, as well as improvised jams on songs makes every show unique while also staying grounded to the roots. People Brothers Band

The People Brothers Band’s unique brand of rhythm and soul features some of the most talented vocalists and musicians in the region. The vibrant group of longtime friends, collaborators, and multi-dimensional artists formed in 2008 as an open mic songwriting outfit and hasn’t looked back since. The band has cultivated a captivating musical alchemy through collective dedication to their craft, the Midwest music community, and each other. Drawing from the band's musically diverse influences, you’ll hear everything from The Tedeschi Trucks Band, Grateful Dead, Phish and Whitney Houston, to Gregg Allman & The Band in their original music. Coupled with a Tina Turneresque-esk stage presence, the ensemble displays genre-bending versatility and mesmerizing synchronicity during their energetic live shows.

Being the city that's forged some of the biggest names in music, Duluth is also home to Jumpsuit - a funk/jam outfit with a big side bowl of soul. On the rise, these funky folks are a culmination of individuals who have shared the stage with many of those names and more. Jumpsuit features Emanuel Eisele and Marshall Dillon on guitars, Calzone on bass, Ian Hopp on drums, Courtney Ellian on keys/backup vocals, and Erica “Ricky” Francois and Madi Phyle on lead vocals. **photo credit: Aaron Reichrow

Dessa fell in love with language as a toddler---and she just never got over it. Coming up in Minneapolis, she collected favorite words to decorate the walls of her brain; as teenager, she thrilled in metaphor; and when she started writing songs and touring, she'd always lean in to pick up on the regional slang. Now, Dessa works in most fields that traffic in words: she's recorded rap bangers as part of the fiercely independent Doomtree collective, released a live album with the Grammy-winning Minnesota Orchestra; contributed to the New York Times and National Geographic Traveler; delivered a TED Talk on the intersection of romance and neuroscience that's notched more than 4 million views; hosted two seasons of the Deeply Human radio program (BBC/American Public Media/iHeartMedia); and published a memoir recounting most of the above called My Own Devices, published by Dutton (Penguin Random House). She lives in Minneapolis and Manhattan, still tours in a rented van, and is probably eavesdropping on the neighboring table, listening for a word to add to the collection. Al Church will make you sweat and dance????? Let’s party! Al Church also plays drums and sings in Derecho Rhythm Section (also with Alan Sparhawk of Low), Producer and guitarist for Gaelynn Lea and Actual Wolf, plays bass in Dave Simonett's solo band, plays drums with Andy Cook, and lends his skills to session work with a wide array of genres. **photo credit: Chris Dolan
