  • Live Music: Cory Coffman

    7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Cory Coffman is a Duluth, MN songwriter, arranger and multi-instrumentalist blending a bohemian-punk ethos with an indie-pop sound. Presenting poetic depth and musical thoughtfulness, Coffman is witty enough to laugh with, yet endearing enough to cry to. In his debut album, Coffman paints his place as an artist worth listening to. Canvas and Color is as much about hopeful new beginnings as it is the nostalgic past. With heartwarming lyrics and subtle satire, Coffman pairs simple chord progressions with sweet melodies that speak to the innocence in us all. Canvas and Color brings a carefree attitude to an age of frustrated confusion. Coffman has established himself as a prominent figure in the music scene of Duluth, Minnesota. His work as a freelance drummer and percussionist over the past decade has curated a diverse performance background. This variety of musical experiences can be heard in songs that feature a wide range of genres and a strong sense of rhythm.

  • Live Music: Side String Band

    6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Side String Band formed out of a desire to make pure music true to the soul. Consisting of sidemen from various acoustic bands in the Midwest, Side String Band yearns to bring back the sound of old time bluegrass with progressive folk undertones. The band has collectively been influenced by this authentic American music over many collective years of performance. Each member contributes their craft and as a result, the sound is diverse and unified in its goal.

Side String Band is Harrison Olk (Tin Can Gin, Kind Country, Cascade Crescendo) on banjo and vocals; Nate Hynum (Black River Revue) on mandolin and vocals; Clancy Ward (Sugar on the Roof, Dickel Brothers) on fiddle and vocals; and Adam Staupe (Feeding Leroy) on the double bass and guitar. Often, as is tradition in the bluegrass and old-time music scene, Side String Band invites fellow musicians to join them on stage as they enjoy performing amongst a large community of musicians from all over the country. Side String Band is dedicated to making working people’s music; whether raw and fast or slow and sweet, the music tells the story and the members of Side String Band are the messengers. From toe tapping fiddle tunes to instant classic originals their roots are evident throughout each unique performance.

"I’ve been doing this over 4 years & I’ve never actually introduced myself...
I started Tbsp. while finishing college (hey gophers). I realized the Twin Cities was lacking liège waffles so I ran with it! Spent 6 months creating a brand & brioche-like waffle recipe with the help of my roommates constant taste testing. Added a few awesome team members along the way. Now 4 years later things look a little different, but my love for feeding people a delicious waffle hasn’t! So incredibly grateful for all the support from the beginning 💙"
