BREWER'S NOTES
Venture Pils is the Brewer’s Beer here at Bent Paddle. It is the quintessential representation of beer brewed with the pristine waters of Lake Superior. Venture Pils uses no water chemistry adjustments – just pure Lake Superior Water which highlights what can be done with this incredible resource. Weyermann Pilsener Malt from Germany is the base malt used in this beer. A cracker-esque malt characteristic that resonates through is balanced out by the snappiness of European Noble hops and a clean lager yeast profile from the Ausustiner Lager strain. A touch of a floral hop flavor and aroma makes this brilliantly clear lager refreshing all year round.

BREWER'S NOTES
14 Degree ESB is Bent Paddle’s most award-winning beer. With a respectable Bronze, Silver, and Gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival, this brand is truly a unique beer that pays homage to the traditions of its style, all while bending tradition to a more modern craft beer drinker. Utilizing Pale malt and a variety of European character malts this beer has complex malt driven flavors and a deep amber color. Expect notes of biscuit, toast, caramel, and slight notes of prune. We balance the malt complexities out with a blend of American and English Hops that give it a bright herbal, fruity, and floral hop presence.

Cold Press Black Ale gives the drinker all of the pleasantries of our Black Ale mixed with our house made Cold Press utilizing beans from Duluth Coffee Company. We’ve moved to a single source farm in Colombia where the beans are grown and then sent up to Duluth Coffee Company to be roasted. Once roasted, we make our cold press in house and infuse into our Black Ale post centrifuge at a rate of 1 gallon per barrel. Expect the rich chocolate and roast characteristics to blend nicely with the Cold Press infusion, bringing the coffee notes to the forefront of your pallet with a pleasantly smooth finish.

BREWER'S NOTES
Wild Tux P.O.G. is a beer brewed in the berliner-weisse style. Our Wild Tux series utilizes a similar recipe where we use 2-Row, White Wheat, Unmalted Wheat, and Carafoam to create this light bodied, low ABV base beer that we then sour using Lactobacillus bacteria. Once our desired acidity is reached, we stop the souring process by boiling and killing off the “Lacto” in our Boil Kettle (thus the name ‘Kettle Sour’). Once this beer is in the fermenter, we pitch our American Ale yeast and let the fermentation process begin. In this particular brand, we added passionfruit and guava puree to the fermentor during fermentation. Once fermentation was complete, we added orange zest to the fermentor and recirculated the beer in the tank. Finally, when the beer was ready to centrifuge, we ran the machine at a lower bowl speed to leave more of the fruit and zest color and flavor behind in the final product. Expect a subtle tartness from this beer with balanced notes of fruit throughout both the aroma and the flavor. Big notes of passionfruit and orange are present in the nose with the guava trailing behind. Citrus forward, with notes of grapefruit in the background. Upon drinking, expect passionfruit and guava to smack you over the head with the orange balancing out the tartness of the sour base. A low pallet astringency makes this beer surprisingly palatable with a pleasant citrus aftertaste that coats your pallet.
