POSITION DESCRIPTION

The primary purpose of this position is tank cleaning, sanitation, dry hopping, centrifuging and final carbonation of product; while assisting the brewing staff in recipe prep, milling in, organization and overall cleanliness.

This position requires a love for beer and an interest in how it is brewed, processed and packaged. Experience in a production brewery is preferred; as well as a high energy level, a sense of urgency and a concern for details is needed. Also must be physically able to lift 55 lb. grain sacks, drag heavy hoses across the floor and perform other physically demanding duties, such as moving ½ barrel kegs weighing 170 lbs. Forklift experience is also preferred but not required.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Tank cleaning and sanitizing

•    Yeast management 

•    Centrifuging beer

•    Dry Hopping utilizing an Ampco Rolec DH90 Dry Hopping Unit

•    Track all data points / samples carefully during cellar process

•    Tank transfers 

•    Coordinate with production and packaging team

•    Assist in cask and infusion program

•    Carbonate beer

•    Work with brewers on QA/QC and consistency of product 

•    Equipment maintenance and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues 

•    Brewery safety and OSHA compliance

•    Assist production and packaging as needed

•    Weigh Hops

•    Assist on the canning line

•    Assist in tracking of weekly inventory levels and product availability

•    Stock organize and maintain cleanliness of brewery stations

•    Cleaning is a critical part of good brewing and quality beer. This position requires a lot of cleaning; from tanks to floors and everything in between

•    All other duties as assigned – specifically packaging and brewhouse work as needed

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Bent Paddle Brewing Co. in Duluth, MN is seeking a quality focused, technically gifted, safety driven, passionate, team oriented brewer to join our team. This position is for our overnight shift and includes a premium pay differential above starting pay which is based on experience. Our brewers are responsible for completing all aspects of the brewing process to ensure the highest quality product and optimal effciency.

The successful candidate for this position will have formal training at an accredited brewing school or Associates degree in an applicable science, and/or a minimum of 2 years professional brewing experience. Must be able to lift 55 pounds, twist/turn, reach over shoulders, bend/stoop and stand/ walk on a continual basis, also move 1/2 barrels kegs weighing 170 lbs. Forklift experience is preferred.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Complete all aspects of day to day brewing processes – do all the things!

- Work with all departments and Management in a professional, approachable, helpful and

positive manner

- Complete production orders in Orchestred Beer software

- Assist in cask and infusion program

Twin Cities Sales Ambassador

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Sales position is responsible for achieving key sales objectives through the managing of multiple distributors and accounts, maintaining and growing accounts/territories and curating a positive image for the Bent Paddle brand. Sales will work with the distributors relevant to their territory, key off-premise retail, and on-premise accounts to promote and foster brand loyalty and development for Bent Paddle Brewing Co. They will be required to travel over 50% of the time to markets within their territory. During the course of travel, they will be responsible for work-withs and distributor training, as well as training and meeting with Bent Paddle sales staff and owners. Another key responsibility will be managing our presence at beer dinners, festivals and promotions throughout their territory.  

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3+ years sales working in the beverage industry, or a 4 year degree in Business or Sales Management. Ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge of craft brewing industry and marketing standards, effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Candidate must have a flexible schedule; ability to work nights and weekends.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Develop promotional strategy in assigned territory in conjunction with DSM, owners and distributor partners for on and off premise events and promotions

•    Conduct weekly work-withs with distributor partners

•    Promote additional placements of Bent Paddle products, tap handles and cooler space

•    Maximize and suggest use of point of sale materials to accounts & distributors

•    Call on existing key accounts to secure new distribution, making timely presentations and introducing new and “limited release” beers

•    Execute on and off premise promotions and special events that generate brand awareness and consumer sampling, as well as new distribution at target accounts

•    Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with account staff and distributor sales personnel

•    Attend monthly sales meeting with DSM, all sales and ownership 

•    Complete necessary administrative reporting and communications on a timely basis

o    VIP / KARMA Notes

•    Complete and submit weekly recap to DSM

•    Ensure the on/off premise inventories are rotated properly and are in code 

•    Recommend and implement sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses (VIP)

•    Maintain availability on all internal communication channels, slack, phone and email

•    Help promote accounts and promotions on social media

•    Build sustainable partnerships with all distributors and key accounts by emphasizing the Bent Paddle brand and product value along with the support staff of the home office

•    Perform other duties as assigned
